My Background
Hello! I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) international development researcher specializing in translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives for academic, government, and community audiences. With a sharp editorial eye and strong research management skills, I excel at guiding projects from initial design through analysis and publication, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and impact.
Currently, I work as a Senior Research Associate at Northeastern University’s Global Resilience Institute, where I support community-participatory projects focused on climate resilience. Previously, I managed mixed-methods research projects for the U.S. Department of Labor on forced labor and migration in Latin America — overseeing multi-country projects, coordinating with international partners, and producing both technical reports and human-interest multimedia stories.
As a Colombian and native Spanish speaker, I bring deep cultural competence and a passion for inclusive, equity-driven research and communication across global contexts. I hold an MS in Strategic Communications for Public Policy from Northeastern University and a BA in Journalism and International Affairs from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Welcome to my writing portfolio!
